Why Choose Costa Rica?

Adventure beckons, clean mountain air invigorates, lush green forests harmonize you with nature and the views take your breath away. You can have all this and more in Costa Rica. Come and let Tranquillity Hill be your gateway into this exotic paradise. You can relax at our full service, wheelchair accessible, luxury boutique hotel  in Palmares, and you can enjoy any of several local tours during your stay.

Ecotourism! We think the term was invented here; very few countries take the protection of natural resources as seriously as Costa Rica. And did we mention weather- Tranquillity Hill is 15 minutes from Atenas; the town chosen by National Geographic as having the most ideal climate in the world. IN THE WORLD! Need we say more!

Just imagine- taking a canopy tour through a pristine rain forest or being witness to the smoke, steam and molten lava gushing from one of the world’s most active volcanoes, not to mention the pungent smell of its hot bellows- you will know you are alive. Visit any one of the countless national parks, crystal clear mountain lakes, beautiful white (or black, yes black!) sand beaches, or experience the beauty of nature at its best at a butterfly farm or orchid museum. Encounter wild animals like you have never imagined; hundreds of different species- monkeys, reptiles, amphibians, birds- parrots, toucans, the elusive resplendent quesnel- they are all waiting to meet you.

And nearby you will find exquisite works in arts and crafts; leather, glass, stone, tropical woods, pottery, ceramic, hand woven fabrics, and metal. Every material nature has to offer. And coffees- some of the best in the world!

So- take a moment, let your mind wander. You can do it; you can come here- to this world of beauty and splendor like no other. Relax and enjoy life, the weather, the sights, the smells, and the people. Smiles are sincere here, happiness radiates from people’s faces. You will be embraced, you will be welcomed, you will be home!

Guest Reviews

Barbara Williams, Nova Scotia

I want to let you know that my stay at your place for 10 days was wonderful!
The name "Tranquility Hill" is very suiting to your place.  It is everything and more than I expected.  It is very peaceful and quiet. When I would sit outside in the early morning I could hear nothing but the birds;  AND the beautiful butterflies would land on me and stay for a little while. In the evening, the peepers were the only sound to be heard and sitting outside in the lovely surroundings of  flowers, trees and "pure nature" was simply wonderful. Your home is truly a place where one can stay to refresh the mind and the spirit. I can't wait to come back and stay again!  Barbara Williams, Halifax, NS
